Supporting the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan energy policy, AREA, the State agency on alternative and renewable energy sources has developped several test facilities in Samux and Absheron Region. The location benefits from strong solar radiation and winds to cool down the farms. Other proof of concept developments has already been established in Nakhchivan
To support their development they created an integrated business line. Azguntex is a solar PV module industrial complex with latest technology. Azer Elektrik aims to bring lean management in operations of existing facilities and grow the portfolio to meet European emission targets for 2020. Bringing european state of the start software and monitoring capabilities is a key objective.
It takes a diversified team and lots of backgrounds to push for clean energies
The company has established a 3 rounds programm to plug invertors, transformers, and general re-engineered balance of system by the end of 2017 of over 22,8 MW. These extensions of existing test facilities will be used as a proof of concept for businness of renewable energy and supply chain resilience. This will help the company scale and finance its development to move to industrial size facilities.
Azer Elektrik aims to become the first renewables electricty operator in the region. Growth will be focused on solar and wind alongside local and international partners.

Toghrul is a native from Baku who experienced 6 years of international studies in Moscow, Paris and London. He is an expert in economics and an energy business graduate speaking 5 languages. His experience includes international relations at UNESCO.
Brice is a technology and energy enthusiast who built several projects while studying law and business. He graduated from ESCP Business School in London where he met with Toghrul. His experience include oil & gas marketing and diplomatic relations with China.

Producing electricity out of the sun requires land but can be mounted on roofs
Through our technical support from Aloe Energy we brought a group of engineers on Azerbaijan test site. They met with local engineers, operators and builders. It has been a good opportunity to exchange on different practices.
Through the development phases of our project we included technology transfer milestones; remote monitoring of electricity output is vital. The visit concluded on future reciprocal training on best practices.
Early august was the best time to bring Mr Nureli Yusifbeyli on our partners site. We visited Les Mées, single largest facilities in France until early 2016 (100 MW) and discussed with the developper. The base of Aloe Energy is located in La Ciotat.
In the afternoon we went on Ginasservis facility (12 MW) and tested some safety tool such as instant outage of 2 invertors to calculate their ramp up time. The visit concluded on discussions about future storage capabilities.
